From His position in the boat, Jesus arose and rebuked the wind and said unto the raging sea, Peace, be still. And the wind [did cease], and there was a great calm. Ever the Master Teacher, Jesus then taught His disciples through two simple yet loving questions. He asked: Why are ye so fearful? "Where is your faith? -Lisa L. Harkness How has looking towards Christ help you?

"Therefore, whoso repenteth and cometh unto me as a little child, him will I receive, for of such is the kingdom of God. Behold, for such I have laid down my life, and have taken it up again; therefore repent, and come unto me ye ends of the earth, and be saved." - 3 Nephi 9:22 How have you become like a little child?

I am so very grateful for Jesus Christ. As I have studied the scriptures and especially The Book of Mormon: Another testament of Jesus Christ, I have felt the love that my savior has for me personally in coming to earth and experiencing: my weaknesses, sins, and infirmities. He knows my struggles, he knows my trials, he understands me better than I understand myself. Even knowing all that he does about me, and he still loves me. He wants me back. He wants me to grow and im...prove and repent daily. He doesn’t expect me to get better all at once. He has such mercy that he lets us learn line upon line, here a little and there a little. He helps us the whole way. I know that Jesus Christ loves me, and blesses me and my family. I also know that I am not some special case, He loves you and your families as well, and He blesses you and your family already. The difficulty is that we often don’t recognize the blessings as coming from Him. But they do come from Him. As you seek him, you too can come to know Him, and begin to recognize the many ways He has blessed you. -Justin Delatore

This is a personal testimony of Kurt S. Rowley, a local member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and how Christ's gospel gives him hope and peace. In my career with criminal justice, I have had exposure to some of society’s worst problems. My work duties have required me to read about, listen to, and look at graphic descriptions and depictions. Some of them likely would sicken even a hard-boiled Hollywood producer. I chose my career in part because I wanted ...to help my community. I do not regret that choice. But I realized early on that I would face a steady diet of things that could poison me emotionally and spiritually. How could I stay close to God while spending every workday focused on evil? As I prayed and thought about it, the answer came to me. It came from the Church’s 13th Article of Faith, which reads in part If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things. I knew that this language reflected the biblical teaching about the kind of content that should fill our minds (see New Testament, Philippians 4:8). It occurred to me that, while I had limited control about what I might see or hear at work, I had a lot of control over what I did at other times. I was determined to fill every moment with the kind of media and activities that met the standard set by the 13th Article of Faith. My commute to and from work became a time for inspiring music and literature, especially the scriptures. While at home, I left work behind and tried to focus on the people I love. Looking back, I realize that I am indebted to Christ and His church for the solution to this dilemma. Without the Church, I would not have known how to find joy in a world of misery. I would have had far fewer opportunities to serve others and to have my thoughts filled with peaceable things. Most importantly, I would not have understood how to invite the grace and power of Jesus Christ to flow into my life. Make no mistake some days I leave work heavy with heartache. The Lord does not let me forget the painful price of evil in the world. But He has never stopped loving me and leading me along. He daily gives me opportunities to feel His presence as He comforts me, encourages me, and directs me even at work. By nurturing my relationship with Him, I have been blessed to have healthy and happy relationships at home, at church, in the community, and in the workplace. I have come to know the personal peace and safety that can come by trusting in the Lord. Kurt S. Rowley

Hi, my name is Ieshia Caldwell. I am 20 years old & I am convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. When I was younger I didn’t believe in a God. I had been through foster homes multiple times, and countless therapists & I didn’t think a God cared for me. Boy was I wrong! I know that every tear that we shed, every time our heart was broken, God knew and felt our pain. He cares, He is holding our hand every second & He is cheering us on. God cares because He s...ends people that we need at the moment to strengthen us. It might be a therapist, friend, or a wonderful missionary! God sent me the most wonderful family, when I was the loneliest. He also sent me the gift of the Holy Ghost, and he also sent me a knowledge of his son Jesus Christ. I know there are more trials and afflictions coming our way, but we are not alone. We are never alone. Also another cool thing, we have our ancestors helping us always- isn’t that AMAZING?? (anyways) I have a testimony that we are loved, cared for, and never alone! I know that we ARE His children, and He will give us the blessings that we are in need of. We will also be a blessing in other peoples' lives. I promise if you pray you will feel of His love & you will understand the way He knows and cares about what we are going through. Again I know If you pray you will feel His guidance & love in your life, and when you pray to Him, He will feel of your love that you have towards Him as well. See more
