Today we had a special guest drop by the fire station. The Grass Valley Firefighters were happy to train with Santa to prepare him for some of the challenges he may face out there on his big day. He learned about vertical ventilation (making holes in roof tops) and he learned the skills of hose handling for fire extinguishment. We are happy to report that Santa passed with flying colors and will soon be on his way to deliver all the gifts to the children of the world and will be able to do it safely. Happy Holidays!!!! We got to do something fun today. Occasionally my two jobs cross paths. Today Santa Claus stopped in for his annual safety training to prepare for the hazards he may face on his big day. Weddings at Taber are always incredible, but I love how different the feel is from the spring to the fall. This was an early spring wedding and the weather was amazing and as you can see in the pic up on the hill we had an amazing sky to play with. Hannah and Isaiah were so much fun to work with and their love for one another was so much fun to witness. I wish them a lifetime of love and happiness. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your day.

Some how I missed posting this from this spring. This was an amazing spring day for a wedding. Stephanie and Ryan were so much fun to work with, as are many of the couples we are lucky to be selected to capture their days. The weather was fantastic for these two and the venue was simply amazing. The lighting was incredible it had such a warm feeling for an early spring day. The wedding was simple, yet elegant, the couple so classy. It was fun to play with the setting that they chose. We absolutely enjoyed every minute of their day. Funny side note The groom grew up literally right around the corner from my wife in a suburb of San Diego and we ended up working together some 600 ish mile away from where they grew up. I guess it really is a small world sometimes.

Here is a behind the scene look at what a photographer can do to creat an image. This was all done in the camera and no editing was done to the final image. The image in the right was taken just before the groom stepped in and with some off camera flash and the proper crop the image on the left was created. Spent the weekend in San Diego for an engagement session, with a September wedding couple. Most of the weekend was spent learning a new editing software since Apple was so kind to stop updating the one I know couldn't have happened at a worse time as I have lots of patiently waiting couples. What a way to start off 2017!!!! I have been working with Mike and Erica for about a year now and it has reminded me how I have the coolest jobs in the world. Erica is one of the nicest sweetest people you will ever meet. MIke is that guy that you hope your daughter or sister will find in life. You can tell how much they love each other simplky when they look at one another. Their lifes together started off with an adventure as many of their guest and yes this photograph...er tried to make it over the summit from Sacramento to Reno in the middle of one of the biggest winter storms of 2017. But no worries these two were not about to let mother nature and her 18 degrees stop them on their big day together. We are excited to share this album with everyone. We were recently invited to photograph a stylized shoot at The Maples Wedding and Event Center. This is one of Yolo Counties newest venues and is an incredible place to hold your wedding or event. Firehouse Entertainment & Event Rentals handled the decor and stylizing of the fall themed shoot and we must say it looked incredible. Flowers and arrangements were handled by Strelitzia Flower Company from Davis. These ladies r...eally out did themselves with some of the most beautiful floral arrangements we have ever seen. The bride and groom were both outfitted in the most amazing wedding day attire from Cocco's Couture. Adazay Hair Salon handled the brides hair and make up and she looked simply stunning. Mommie's Jewelry Box provided the jewelry that was designed by 3 Reets. No detail in this shoot was missed. The whole event was capped off with the most delicious treats from Cakes Done Wright. So normally I don't share full albums of weddings here but this was a special one and the bride has given me permission. Here is the story behind this love story.......... I met Ty a few years ago when he took a class I was teaching. We ran into each other here and there over the next few years and one day he asked me to shoot his engagement photo's. He was just so in love with this lady and wanted to go to San Fransisco for some really awesome photographs. I said yes of ...course and couldn't wait to met this woman I had heard so much about. We set a date and met at a small Taco Shop called Under Dogs in SF. I instantly understood what he was talking about. She was beautiful, funny and full of life. I knew almost instantly they were perfect for one another. That day we shot at the Palace of Fine Arts and Baker Beach, I loved the session so much. They were both so full of life, love and excitement it made the pictures tell so much more of their story. We had kept in touch over the next few months as they decided on where they were going to get married. Then this past May maybe early June Ty called and said they were going to Kauai and wanted me to come along to capture their day. I was so excited, this was going to be my first destination wedding and who wouldn't be excited to go to Kauai to work. We spent part of the day before the wedding with them checking out the beach, and had the most amazing evening after the wedding doing thier bridal session. The wedding day was filled with so much adventure it will not be forgotten anytime soon. Please check out their album I think it tells a truly amazing love story. This was one of the coolest opportunities of my career. Not only did I get to meet these two incredible people and their families but we got to create a bit of art with their love and passion. I have been patiently dying to get to this album albeit probably not as much as Chelsea has been dying for me to finish it. But going back and processing this album has reminded me of the amazing time we had with these two. They are a special pair, whom care for each other and those... around them. I am excited to have them in my life. Ty dotes on Chelsea and his love for her is so incredibly obvious. Chelsea is stunningly beautiful and lights up whenever Ty is around. But none of that is as incredible to witness as watching them as a family. The two boys are the center of all of their love and passion. This Beautiful Couple got married on a beautiful summer day in June in the Foothills of Northern California. So we are very lucky to have been chosen to shoot this wedding in Kauai a few days ago. The drama in the sky is from tropical storm Darby which will be impacting us in the next few days. This is our first trip to the islands period and although it's our busy time we are taking a few extra days to check out the island. For those of you who may not know this is day 4 in Kauai for us and the reason we are here. Today I am fortunate enough to be photographing Ty and Chelsea's wedding on Tunnels Beach outside Hanalei. We then will be setting sail on a catamaran around the island. We couldn't be more happy for these two and feel very lucky to be here, not only to capture their day but to be witness to it along with their family and friends. This was a Disney themed wedding at Empire Mine State Historic Park. For those that were there or know this bride and groom you know how magical it was from start to finish. Recently I have had the opportunity to do some different type of work. Working with families and High School Seniors has been a ton of fun and very rewarding as I continue to be blessed to work amazing people. Hey check this out. This last Thursday I had the chance to be part of an crazy stylized shoot at the Historic Oakdale Ranch. It gave me a chance to work with some amazing vendors and without them this wouldn't have turned out as great as it did.
