With the help of the Metro Los Angeles Freeway Service Patrol, Officer Joseph Davila was able to corral this friendly K-9 off the freeway, before she or any of the motoring public were harmed. Her tag comes back to an animal shelter in Texas. Unsure how this pup ended up all the way in California

Traffic collisions are the Number 1 killer of teenagers in America. Nationally, about 5,000 teens will die in automobile collisions each year. About 10 percent of those deaths are in California alone. Beginning to drive a vehicle is an important step in a young persons life, and the CHP has several programs designed to educate new drivers about their responsibilities behind the wheel. Please contact your local CHP Area office for any future classes. ... #officeoftrafficsafety #teendriversafetyweek #passengersafety #teen #driver #safety #week #california #highway #patrol #californiahighwaypatrol #impactteendrivers

Officer David Mullane rescued these puppies from the 210 freeway in Azusa. When Officer Mullane first arrived, one was in the center median and the other was on the right shoulder of the freeway. They both were scared, but Officer Mullane quickly gained their trust and was able to rescue them safely.

The CHP is gearing up to increase motorcycle safety awareness in California. A new federal grant will allow the CHP to increase motorcycle safety activities and... reduce the number of motorcycle-involved crashes and victims. The safety campaigns will promote the use of helmets for all riders and raise motorists’ awareness of sharing the road with motorcyclists. The campaigns will also focus on the most dangerous traffic violations, including speeding, improper turning, and driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. https://bit.ly/36JAglB
