2020 has been a rough year for a lot of folks. Our CHiPs for Kids toy drive was created to help bring a little joy to our communities during the holidays. The Antelope Valley residents and organizations donated over 8000 toys to the Antelope Valley CHP toy drive, and those toys we’re given out to nonprofit organizations throughout the area. We hope these toys bring a little happiness and joy to some wonderful little kids. Merry Christmas and a safe New Year from the Antelope Valley CHP Family.

Today, Jordan Ramirez, conducted an Appreciation Walk in honor of Officer Andy Ornelas. He walked from the Antelope Valley CHP Office to the Lancaster sheriff station and back to the Antelope Valley CHP Office in his Young Marines uniform and carrying the American flag. We are in awe of this young man’s character, compassion and commitment for our brother and friend whom he’d never met. The Antelope Valley CHP Family, along with Taylor Ornelas was there to great him and thank him for his support. We are going to be keeping an eye on Mr. Jordan Ramirez, if his character at the age of 11 is any indication of the man he’s going to become, we can expect great things from him. @thankyouforyourservicewalk

Today we said goodbye to our friend and brother, Officer Andy Ornelas, #21685. He will be missed by everyone that has ever had the honor of knowing him. He was an amazing officer, amazing friend, but most importantly an amazing person. It has truly been a blessing to have known and worked with him. Rest in Heaven Brother, We got it from here.

An example of How NOT to get the attention of the EDD, by crashing into their building. You're going to get more than just the attention of the EDD in the form of the CHP. The officer determined the driver had been under the influence of alcohol prior to the collision, and was subsequently arrested. Fortunately no one was hurt as a result of a bad decision. A designated driver or ride share alternative, beats a trip to jail and a sloppy driving record any day.

As you can see here, we have very minimal room to work on the shoulder. So please remember to move over, or slow down if unable to do so. It's for safety, it's courteous and it's the law. Thank you and drive safe everyone.

If you know you're riding dirty driving without a license, don't give us a reason to pull you over, for instance driving solo in the carpool lane. No license = no more driving. Please follow the rules and drive safe everyone.
