We have some updates Hello from Dr. Sharon! I wanted to update everyone that we are set to move out of our current location in a few weeks. What to expect as we go forward: new location nearby, new hours, and hopefully the chance to see some of you again soon for an adjustment. For those of you struggling with smoke in the house, here is a simple thing to do: buy a box fan and a square air filter for a furnace. Tape them together and y...ou have a simple filter system for your house. UPDATE: Here is the equipment I’m using: Lasko 20 inch Box Fan 20 x 20 furnace filters (various brands) Random pieces of cardboard Duct tape (or painters tape if you want this to be a temporary modification) NOTE: Try to get filters rated at MERV 13, which can reduce smoke. If you use other types of fans, there is a possibility of overheating the fan. The Lasko fan seems to work fine even if you simply tape the filter onto the side of it. AIRFLOW: simply taping the filter onto the back of the fan will work, but airflow will be reduced. To improve airflow, you need to create an air gap between the fan and the filter(s). One of my engineer friends called it headspace. I have created two more filter fans that include extra air space so that the airflow works better. You can scroll down the comments to see some of the examples. Please post photos of your filter fan! I would love to see how people are implementing their versions of it.
