Controlled breathing exercises can help relieve stress and anxiety and help you relax, whether it’s before bed or an important meeting. If you’re new to breathing exercises, try this one to start: Sit or lie down in a comfortable position. Your eyes can be open or closed. Inhale through your nose for four counts, and then exhale for four counts. Just five minutes of controlled breathing can help calm racing thoughts and lower blood pressure. #inprimehealth #selfcare

One way to handle stress is to keep a gratitude journal. How often you write in it is up to you. Try to aim for five items to start. Chino Valley Medical Center still finds time to add some spooky fun to their day with a department pumpkin carving contest and fun guessing game!

Halloween Safety Tip: Drive extra safely during popular trick-or-treating times (5:30pm-9:30pm). If you have to drive, slow down and be extra alert, especially in residential neighborhoods. Enter and exit driveways slowly. Take extra time to look for kids at intersections, on medians and on curbs.

Halloween Safety Tip: Remind your trick-or-treaters to put their electronic devices down while out walking, keep their heads up, be aware of their surroundings and don’t run across the street.
