Maybe we can’t GO to the theatre, but Chico State Theatre still has exciting plans this semester! Have you heard about our fall play? 2020 marks the 20th anniversary of The Laramie Project, one of the most powerful plays ever created. Chico State Theatre is pleased to present this incredible piece as a virtual production, which will be streamed online this November.
Have you heard about the Fall Musical? It's a reading of the world premiere, which will be streamed this October! With a script and music co-written by Tim McDonald (James and the Giant Peach & Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka) and New York Times Best Selling Author Jodi Picoult (Change of Heart, Between the Lines), Rob Rokicki and Rebecca Murillo, Daniel J. Mertzlufft and Kate Leonard, Doug Besterman and Sharon Vaughn, Douglas Lyons and Ethan D. Pakchar, Zina Goldrich and Marcy Heisler. This production will begin rehearsals Sunday August 30th and is set to stream online beginning Thursday October 15th. It will be co-Directed by Demondra Martin, Matthew Teague Miller and Megan Glynn Zollinger and Music Directed by Dara Scholz .
Virtual Auditions for this semester's productions are THIS WEEK. For all of the information about productions visit the link below. Auditions are open to Musical Theatre and Theatre majors, as well as non-majors and community members. ALL ARE WELCOME!

Over the past few weeks Chico State Theatre has received multiple emails from alumni inquiring about our current practices regarding Equity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism. The Chico State Theatre faculty is proud to have alumni who continue to be invested in this program, and who are committed to the incredible momentum in the fight for equal civil rights. In response to these questions, we will be holding a virtual town hall meeting on Monday July 6th at 5:30pm Pacific Time. ... Current students and Faculty are invited to attend, but the goal of this meeting will be to hear from our incredible alumni and answer their questions. Please join us for this event. The zoom information is below. https://csuchico.zoom.us/j/94143425928 Meeting ID: 941 4342 5928 Password: Wildcats
Chico State Theatre stands with you.
Dear Theatre and Musical Theatre Students - I hope you are all healthy and safe in this incredibly challenging time. My thoughts have been with you all. In light of the amount of changes that have taken place in the past three months, I would like to invite you to a virtual meeting/town hall this Sunday June 7th at noon. While the situation continues to be fluid, there are a number of things to update you on. Additionally, Megan and I will be available to answer your quest...ions to the best of your ability. Due to the fact that many students do not check their emails during the summer, please help get the word out by telling your friends via text message and social media. While this meeting is not mandatory, it will be very helpful to get out as much information as possible to as many students as possible at once. If you did not receive the email with the zoom link, please email Matty for that info.

Chico State is excited to be offering two new degree programs beginning Fall 2020. A BFA in Musical Theatre, and a minor in Dance. Current students can enroll in these programs by filling out change of program forms, and future Chico State students can apply next fall! This makes Chico State the only Musical Theatre BFA in Northern California, and one of only two in the CSU system! For more information contact Musical Theatre Program Coordinator Matthew Teague Miller ([email protected]) or Dance Program Coordinator Megan Glynn Zollinger ([email protected]).
Check out Matty!
