Hastings Pharmacy, owned by Ben Hastings, was located on the corner of 3rd and Main in the Union Hotel shown in the photo. A pharmacy bottle, labeled vial and a advertising clothes brush from the 1900-1910 period are also pictured except the brush which was from the 1920’s after the Union Hotel burned and Hastings moved to 3rd and Broadway.

Grew up spending a lot of time in and around the Longfellow shopping center area of Chico. I don’t remember the store advertised on this ashtray. Then again, I was twelve. Why would I ??? I do remember my phone number was Fireside 2-4425. HA !!!
