Our Christmas party is over and Christmas is coming fast! Come over Tuesday at 9:30 AM or so to check us out. You might decide to give yourself a present of a membership! It's a super great value!

I wonder if the need to "work every week" keeps people from joining? It shouldn't. There are many different things people can do, including marking through the bar code on items with a marker (some do this in their wheelchair), repackaging food into smaller portions (sitting or standing), unloading food, moving stuff to temporary storage rooms, palatalizing foodstuffs, picking up food at stores, returning empty milk-crates, and many other jobs. And the hours for almost all of the jobs are 2 to 4 hours one day a week. And it's a great opportunity to meet new people!

Are you over 50 and run out of food? Chico Gleaners are inviting new members in need of regular food distribution, serving folks over age 50. Food items such as bread, bakery goods, fruits and vegetables, meat, cheese, canned foods, milk, prepared food are gleaned from local stores and restaurants and gathered for you to pick up every Tuesday. There are annual dues of $15 and $40 monthly. Members are expected to work some hours during the week or weekend. Call 895-3006 for more information.
