Acupuncture really really is a very very good thing to do to help our brains and bodies get relief and recalibrate after being flooded with the hormones of stress (trauma). How is everyone doing? I know that I (Olivia) have been getting caught up on some personal life maintenance (chiropractic, dental, car maintenance, house organization) since I came out of the intensive "stay at home" phase of the pandemic. That includes Acupuncture! I've gotten a few treatments now and it feels great. The clinic is open again. There are new systems in place to account for the new state of public health. And to be able to operate and stay in business we ...have increased our rates. Our new sliding scale is $40-80. I know that's a big increase from what it was, but we are seeing (scheduling) less than half the number of people/appointments as we were before. We really appreciate you choosing our clinic for your health needs! I hope you make it in soon. Ellie is also back practicing here three days a week, so we are open Tuesday-Saturday. Antoher significant change is that you need an appointment to get treated. You can call, email, or schedule online. Be so very well, each and every one of you. Big (virtual) hug. During lockdown, we finally got our official letter from the IRS saying that we are in fact a non-profit! Effective since February of last year! This is great for many reasons, including being able to apply for and use grants to fund treatments for people who are not able to afford our sliding scale, it is a business structure that better reflects our practices (we don't end up with a big profit at the end of the year....we basically have enough money to cover all of our operating expenses including employee salaries), I (Olivia) love being a straight up employee, it really simplifies things (the business had been a sol-propriotor ship), and many other advantages. We are not yet open. We are in the "research and development" phase of figuring out how to keep our patients and our staff safe, in what will be new physical configurations at the clinic, new policies and systems, and new business models. So. Lots of change afoot at CCA. Acupuncture will return, it's just gonna take some time to make sure that we open in a way that is sustainable and will be in alignment with providing excellent care and service to our community.
