FROM: North State Symphony's 2020-21 Season! Welcome to our 2020-21 Season! After so many months of challenges and uncertainty, North State Symphony is looking forward to beginning a special new time of rediscovery and celebration as we mark our 20th year of bringing excellence in classical music to beautiful northern California.... Starting this October and continuing through April of 2021, we’re thrilled to be able to share 6 all-new monthly concert experiences with you. In addition, we’ve lined up innovative ways to connect you with our musicians and the fascinating world of classical music, all to be enjoyed from the comfort and safety of your own homes. Performances will feature repertoire for smaller ensembles, chosen and performed by our Maestro and musicians. Concerts will air Thursday evenings both online and on public access TV (BCACtv at Comcast channel 11). Each month will also feature additional virtual music, interviews and conversations across the artistic spectrum, including: Pre-concert talks Watch parties of past concerts Interviews with NSS musicians in our "Musician Accents" series "Just Ask!" with special guest artists from the North State and beyond A new series called "Cracking the Score" where Maestro Seaton and guests dig into the great works of the classical music canon Also this season, we’re introducing a new Membership model. Instead of purchasing individual concert tickets, we'd appreciate it you'd support us by becoming a member. Your membership will sustain us through these challenging times for performing arts organizations by helping us produce our virtual concert series and more. NSS Members will also get exclusive access to Member-only online content, including unique musical performances, interviews, special behind-the-scenes discussions with the Maestro and guests, and more!

Janet Turner Print Museum Celebrating Wayne Thiebaud Virtual Exhibition October-November, 2020... Arts and Humanities Building, Room 123 CSU Chico campus, Chico www.theturner.org The influential California artist Wayne Thiebaud turns 100 on November 15th. This exhibition examines the artistry of Thiebaud and his circle, including Richard Diebenkorn and Roy De Forest. Birthday Party and Cake Contest Sunday, November 15, 2:00 PM (Zoom) Julia Child said, A party without a cake is just a meeting," and we agree. Help us celebrate Wayne Thiebaud’s 100 birthday with a Thiebaud-themed cake contest! Want to participate? Take a picture of your cake creation and post it to Instagram using @janetturnerprintmuseum and #TurnerCakeContest. The Healing Art Gallery uses the power of art to inspire healing and wellness, featuring local artists touched by cancer.
