Black lives matter. Justice for George Floyd and others before him that have fell victim to unnecessary police brutality and the atrocious systemic racism that permeates our broken and corrupt system.

As you all know, we are currently living in unprecedented and scary times. In response to the current global Covid-19 pandemic, we are doing our part to help combat and minimize the potential spread of Covid-19 virus. While normal office hours will remain open Monday through Friday 9AM to 5PM, we are temporarily suspending all in office consultations and meetings. Phone and Zoom consultations will be available. We sincerely hope that you and our loved ones stay safe and healthy during these difficult times.

Custody/Visitation exchanges are essential activities and are exceptions to the stay at home order under paragraph 5(ii)(a) as well as 5(v) of the Safer at Home order. If your exchanges take place at a public place that is currently closed, you and the other parent will need to figure out an alternative solution. Now is the time to be flexible, understanding, and cooperative with the other parent. Now is the time to set aside differences. The ongoing global pandemic is bigger than any differences that you may have with the other parent.

From my experience, it is much easier and cheaper to prevent than to fix/cure. Your actions today may have drastic legal consequences and ramifications for years to come. So maybe it is worth talking to an attorney before you sign that document that you are not sure about signing. Maybe it is worth talking to an attorney before you decide whether to put your spouse on title to your home that you had coming into marriage. Your decision today can end up costing you a significant amount of time and money later on down the line if things don't work out. Just my 2 cents.
