We ask that you please consider a donation on this #GIVINGTUESDAY https://www.facebook.com/donate/989103848252657/ I became a supporter of the Chaw-Se Indian Grinding Rock State Park because I have been dancing with my family in our Traditional Roundhouse since the early 80’s. It has drawn me there every year to become more involved with learning to be a docent, cleaning our Grinding Rocks, and to sit on the Board.... This is my second time serving on the Board, and it is one that I can honestly say I love being a part of. Through my Miwok/Me-Wuk ancestry I find a sense of pride knowing thousands before me have walked that land, sang, prayed, danced and worshipped. We have lost many of our Elders that were a big part of Chaw-Se, and have welcomed in the new relatives. Am I biased to this land??? Absolutely It calls to you Our Ancestors call to us to dance there for the next 7 Generations long after we are gone Marge Grow-Eppard, Sister Who Walks With Bears California Miwok/Me-Wuk

It was beautiful and serene and I loved the museum. It didn’t take long for me to get entrenched in the park and all it represents. I learned so much more about the natives in California than I had ever learn...ed in school and I was proud to volunteer. Shortly after I volunteered, I supported the park by becoming a Chaw’se Association member and then on to the association board for the last 4 years. I bring my great grandchildren here, my friends here and I encourage everyone who reads this to come visit this park, learn about the history and enjoy this park and then consider supporting the park by donating this holiday season." -Yvonne See more
