Remember to pay property taxes that are due by April 10th!
Thankfully you have until July 15th to file your 2019 Federal tax return!

Another tax season is in the books! And next year will be much more of a bear with all the tax law changes to take effect this year!
There are blessings and curses to being self employed. But the best thing for me is the flexibility it allows to be available for my family when they need me!
For those with a smart phone or Ipad:
So I decided to look a little into the 20% QBI deduction that is a part of the new tax law to see what it is all about. After reading through much of the article below, I am truly NOT looking forward to having to work with this in 2019 when preparing 2018 returns! Who even thinks of all these tax law changes? I'm thankful that there are talented programmers who can write the software that calculates the correct amount of tax due. And I am also thankful for those who teach all the new laws at the tax update seminars because without them I'd be sinking!
I enjoyed spending the evening at The Master's University's first "Beyond the Books" Night where over 25 alumni made themselves available to interact with current students about what the future holds for them after graduation! Many thanks to Shayna Anderson & Bill Bolde for their efforts in making this event happen.
So there is just a little more than a week left of tax season! BUT I also want to remind everyone here in CA to be sure to make your property tax payment by Monday, April 10th as that is the deadline for the 2nd installment!
Here's a link to a 2 1/2 minute podcast produced by Spidell Publishing explaining the proposition that just passed regarding the ban on plastic bags:
I don't know whether to be grateful or overwhelmed! I just realized that tax season has been extended a total of 4 days this year for us here in CA. We have a leap day and then the due date for individual Federal and CA returns is April 18th instead of the 15th due to the Emancipation Day holiday in Washington DC. And if anyone is lucky enough to live in Maine or Massachusetts, they have until April 19th to file their returns due to the Patriot's Day holiday in those states. https://www.irs.gov//2016-Tax-Season-Opens-Jan-19-for-Nati
I get to attend the Spidell Publishing, Inc. Tax update seminar in Valencia tomorrow! Can't wait to hear the latest on all the tax law changes for the 2015 returns!
