Today is my 44th birthday and the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. I am so grateful and so blessed. I am thankful for my health and wellbeing as well as the love and support of my family and friends. I bow in gratitude to my ancestors on whose shoulders I stand. I thank God for my life!... I will take time today to rest, reflect, reconcile, renew and forgive. I invite you to do the same. I will commemorate this day in ritual and ceremony. I will also witness the stellar event that our amazing solar system will grace us with later today. Jupiter and Saturn will appear bright and beautiful at nightfall, though they sit low in the southwest sky. To see these worlds, find an unobstructed horizon in the direction of sunset, and seek them out rather low in the sky as soon as darkness falls (www.earthsky.org). You should be able to see it but feel free to use a pair of binoculars or a small telescope for a clearer view if available. This cosmic Christmas miracle hasn't been witnessed in nearly 800 years--Jupiter and Saturn will align so closely in the night sky that they'll almost appear to collide from our vantage point here on Earth, creating a radiant point of light often referred to as the "Star of Bethlehem" or the "Christmas Star." See the light. Be the light. You are the light of the world. We are collectively birthing a new world based on equality, peace, acceptance, understanding, justice and love.
