PROTECT HEALTH AND PREVENT ILLNESS HEALTH TIP: What type of water is best ‘distilled’, ‘neutral pH’, or ‘alkaline pH’? Distilled water has no minerals, and is slightly acidic. It is free of dissolved minerals and, because of this, has the special property of being able to actively absorb toxic substances from the body and eliminate them. It can be used when one is seeking to detoxify or cleanse the system for a short period of time. The good thing is it can remove contamin...ants but distilled water also can leech minerals from the body. The longer one drinks distilled water, the more likely the development of mineral deficiencies. The alkaline buffers in ionized water will allow for acidic wastes to be discarded much more easily and also turns the state of the body more alkaline. Alkaline water will help to buffer the less than perfect diet. In addition, alkaline water is packed full of antioxidants, which also ward off diseases.
