Special Rally in honor of the Rebbes Wedding Anniversary!!

Chabad SOLA 18.08.2020

Join us and celebrate This upcoming Tuesday is the 19th of Kislev. The 19th of Kislev is celebrated as the Rosh Hashanah of Chassidism. It was on this date, in 1798, that the founder of Chabad Chassidism, Rabbi Schneur Zalman, was freed from his imprisonment in czarist Russia - in essence, a day of freedom for his whole movement. A disciple once asked his Rebbe: What is a Chassid?... A Chassid, answered the Rebbe, is a lamplighter. Back in the day, there would be a guy in each town whose job it was to light the streetlamps at night. He’d go around with a long stick, with a flame burning at its tip, and one-by-one kindle the lamps up and down the streets. The lamplighter, explained the Rebbe, knows that the fire isn’t his. He knows that the lamp already has all it needs to be able to give light. But for one reason or another, right now the lamps aren’t burning. So, he takes the flame with which he’s been entrusted, and he goes and kindles the flames. Our world is so often filled with darkness. But the Chassidic teaching help illuminate. It gives us a more joy-filled, more passionate, and warmer perspective on everything we experience. And that’s not enough. To be a Chassid is to share that warmth with another. To take the light we’ve been fortunate enough to experience and find another person. A person who’s lamp - for whatever reason - hasn’t yet been lit. Every Jewish soul is a fully functioning lamp, ready to shine and share its light. But sometimes it’s not active. People fall out of touch, they’re uninspired, not motivated or moved to experience Judaism’s light. So, we each have an obligation to be a lamplighter - to reach out and do something about it. Be a lamplighter! That’s the message the Rebbe put his life on the line for. Make your Judaism shine with light and passion. And make sure that light is shared with everyone around you until they become their own source of light.

Weekly Motzei Shabbos Learning!

Chabad SOLA 15.07.2020

Tuesday’s Inspiration! The Rebbe taught us to live in the moment, live with the weekly Parsha. Parsha s Vayeitze talks about Yaakov leaving the Holy land and going to Charan, only returning years later after having 11 of his kids. Specifically there in a place where there are unholy things, Yaakov the only of the forefathers has all his children become Tzaddikim, holy men. This Teaches us that specifically in a time of spiritual darkness, like now, can you reach the highest levels!!
