The world can be a difficult place. These are times of great uncertainty. My heart hurts for those of you who are directly affected by the coronavirus and those of us who are feeling the unforeseen challenges of lost employment, physical disconnection from those we love, and the overall sense of the world turned upside down. Please know that even though CGEP at CSULB has had to cancel workshops, programs, and events, we are here to see this global crisis through, with you ,i...n the best way we can. From time to time I will post links to sites that give hope, inspiration, and even a little laughter. Today, I’d like to practice the global competence of Keeping an Open Mind. As I was taking a walk through my neighborhood, I saw this painted on the sidewalk. Keeping an open mind is difficult, but not impossible, even during times of great change. Here is a link to a thoughtful poem, Lockdown, written by a Franciscan Friar in Ireland about the coronavirus lockdown there and keeping an open mind. https://www.huffpost.com//ireland-priest-coronavirus-lockd The whole world must take action. We are truly connected. What resonates with you in this poem? How might we use the sentiments in this poem to create a different world after COVID-19? Be well!
