He was assigned to the Senate Division, and has been with the Department since April 2005. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and colleagues. US Capitol Police Press Release At approximately 9:30 p.m. (January 7, 2021), United States Capitol Police Officer Brian D. Sicknick passed away due to injuries sustained while on-duty. Officer Sicknick was responding to the riots on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol and was injured while physically engaging with protesters. He returned to his division office and collapsed. He was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The death of Of...ficer Sicknick will be investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch, the USCP, and our federal partners. Officer Sicknick joined the USCP in July 2008, and most recently served in the Department’s First Responder’s Unit. The entire USCP Department expresses its deepest sympathies to Officer Sicknick’s family and friends on their loss, and mourns the loss of a friend and colleague. @losangelesfiredepartment LAFD Announces COVID-19 Related Death LOS ANGELES Statement from Los Angeles City Fire Department (LAFD) Chief Ralph M. Terrazas on the passing of LAFD Captain I George Roque. ... It is with a heavy heart on this first day of the new year that we announce the death of LAFD Captain I George Roque, who passed away earlier today at an area hospital from complications of COVID-19. Captain Roque was a 22-year LAFD veteran assigned to Fire Station 97 in the Laurel Canyon/Mulholland area of the City. He was 57 years old and is survived by his wife and four children. He is the second LAFD member to succumb to complications from COVID-19 since the pandemic began. Firefighter/Paramedic Jose Perez passed away in July 2020. On behalf of the men and women of the LAFD, I send my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the Roque family and his friends and colleagues throughout the Department.
