Great meeting this morning! We had an entertaining and informative speech from Club VP of Education Charlotte D. about the history behind Dia de los Muertos - complete with visuals and delicious pan de muerto. Even though Katie B. gave an impressive pocket speech, stepping up at the last minute with a thorough breakdown of Proposition 10 and the arguments for and against, it is always tough to compete with a speaker who brings along treats for the voters Congrats to Charlo...tte for winning Best Speaker this morning! Our current Club President George R. was able to take the Best Table Topics ribbon home with his trick or treat tales, and Club Treasurer Emily P. snagged the Best Evaluator prize for her good-natured and expansive evaluation of the meeting. A bit belated, but wanted to share the update from a meeting a couple weeks back on October 18. Our best speaker was Eric J with a rousing and inspiring talk about getting ready for our club speech contest last week. Vib G. took down Best Table Topics with an amazing 2-for-1 special: Vib was called on twice in one meeting and was able to come up with enough witty improv to impress his fellow toastmasters. I (Mike R.) was humbled by the Best Evaluator ribbon in this meeting. ...I specifically recall some excellent individual evaluations, so I was up against some tough competition. Thanks all. One of our newer members, Ashley D., had her very first speech - the infamous Icebreaker - last week. She did a fantastic job and even won Best Speech for the meeting! We also want to congratulate Centre City veteran members Lindsey S. (Best Table Topics) and Dan K. (Best Evaluator) for their wins last Thursday morning. Congrats to our members for their wins at this week's meeting (10.4.18). Recent new member Kestrel L. took home the Best Speaker award and Dan K. won both Best Table Topics and Best Evaluator.

Wow! Congratulations to Joyce! If you have been to any Toastmasters events in the last couple years you will recognize her, as I certainly do.
