Aikido practicioner, Mike Naranjo, and I visited Tulare in order to train. The class, led by Sensei Mark Amaral, was highly enjoyable and educational.

The adult aikido self-defense class occurred after the community free yoga class this weekend. The topic of instruction, tai no henko (indirect entry), was inspired by Mark Larson Sensei of Minnesota Aiki Shuren Dojo. Vincent McGraw Sensei recently attended a seminar at Aikido by the Bay in San Mateo, where Larson Sensei was featured. A distinctive insight from the seminar was the practice of tai no henko with relevance. The class thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the unique and effective self-defense application.

Central California Aikido welcomes out-of-town visitors to the Central Valley to adult aikido training on Saturday mornings at the Chowchilla Total Fitness gym.
