We certainly wish that this March 16, 2020 podcast episode wasn’t potentially even more relevant now, nearly 7 months later. But as Dr. Taylor says, we’re in this together, and we are sharing in hopes to provide some additional support during these truly unprecedented times. Best wishes for a relaxing and enjoyable weekend everyone. #cabacares https://youtu.be/Ih__kCWUQCs Rachel Taylor

Hello, I’m writing to share a personal message following the recent deaths of Feda Almaliti and her son Muhammed. I sincerely thank Dr. Eric Larsson, Sarah Trautman, Dr. Michael Cameron, and the entire CABA executive management team for their related guidance. I’m hopeful this open letter, Steps 1-5 to Avoid Crisis: A Personal Letter to the ASD Community provides some support to those struggling with this unbelievable tragedy (and I would be honored to hear any feedback, so please do not hesitate to share your comments with me). As always, I’m sending my virtual support to everyone. RIP F&M https://www.centerforaba.com/asdcommunityletter

Feda & Mu, you were a conduit for change while we were blessed with you on earth, and you will continue to be a conduit for change in your afterlife. We will forever miss you. Love, the Feda & Mu Crew.

A personal note from CABA’s CEO, Dr. Rachel Taylor: As CABA is working to share a more formal acknowledgement of the recent tragic deaths of Feda and Mu, I felt that it may be helpful to share the following brief message with our countless friends and colleagues struggling right now. I’ve experienced extreme loss. I’ve experienced unwavering sorrow. But it wasn’t until earlier today, when I was grieving with the CABA team, that I fully realized just how truly unique our respe...ctive processes are, especially in times of unimaginable tragedy. For me, I suddenly found myself bursting into zoom meeting tears blurting out that I’m not ready to talk about Mu yet, only Feda. Just now I also suddenly realized that it’s ok for me to feel this way. So I decided to share this post in case it helps others to realize that it’s ok to embrace your own process right now, whatever it may be. The CABA team is working together to determine how best to pay tribute to these incredible souls, and as I continue to navigate my own grieving process, I will also find a way to share all of the incredible lessons learned working alongside Feda to ensure access to quality ABA services regardless of age or severity. For today? It just felt right for me to simply share some personal moments with the almighty Feda Almaliti - Feda, your light was so blindingly bright, it could never fade; in fact, it will no doubt only continue to grow exponentially brighter . Sending my virtual support to everyone, as always. Feda Almaliti Rachel Taylor See more

Calling all grad students, check this out!!! It’s Dr. Rachel Taylor here & I served as the ABAI Student Rep in the early 2000’s. That experience remains hands down one of the most influential of my entire career. I highly recommend considering this unique opportunity > Contribute, Learn, Improve & Advance ... Sounds like an excellent plan to me (& everyone on team CABA!). #wearecalaba
