Here’s something spicy to get you through the mid week blues! I used to play around with pin up modeling in my day. We always got so much attention when we would go out dressed up, I wanted to put that attention to good use so....I founded a non profit called Cuties for a Cause. We had so much fun and got to raise money for different charities that supported women, art, animals and the hungry in San Diego. We held fundraisers with live music, pin up girls and cool cars and even made some calendars and posters. Such a fun time! Did you ever make it to an event of ours? Comment below your memories!!

Back in the salon after a whirlwind road trip! It was fun to get away and escape reality a bit. We are very lucky to be able to do so. Before we left I got to do this gorgeous gals hair! She was a color virgin!!!! Wanted to see some bright pops of blonde but maintain a lower maintenance hair color. We were both stoked on the finished look. Everyday is national dog day with my good boy! We love going on hikes, playing in the surf, chasing cats, yummy treats, and taking long naps.

We all are experiencing roots during this time while salons are still closed or only doing parking lot haircuts. One option when you return to the salon is to embrace your natural! This client decided to do just that! There are two ways to do this. One is gradually. We start by doing a full head of highlights. Gradually adding more each appointment until you’re light enough to finish with a silver toner. This could take up to 10 appointments depending on how dark your hair i...s and the condition of your hair. Patience is key! Second option is a marathon hair session. If your hair is strong enough we can do a color remover (sometimes several) then a full head of highlights and lowlights followed by a silver toner. That’s what we did here. This process took about 7hrs and cost approx $700. Yes it’s a lot for one sitting but then you never have to color again! (Although I do recommend occasional toners to keep the brass away) Home maintenance during this process is so important. A weekly conditioning treatment and toning shampoo/conditioner will be your best friend. Gray hair is also prone to yellowing from heat tools so make sure you’re using heat protecting products! .....the last pic was her starting point (plus she had about 2 inches of natural roots) @leo4la @ The Powder Room By Celestina
