New beautiful and tactile installation at Cedar Street! www.cedarstreetgalley.com Corner of Cedar and Shattuck in Berkeley Penelope Anstruther... Lean Against the Wall Jan. 3rd-30th Lean Against the Wall is a site-specific triptych made with found objects gathered on walks in Berkeley CA. These are pieces of billboard, paint peeled from the wall and hoops from wheels, all discards of a busy city that, isolated, hold a kind of disembodied potential. I find these remnants beautiful and hope that by leaning them towards each other they are able to express their own pared down narrative. Each piece priced at $250.00. All sales goes to artist. Check out the new, colorful and inspiring show by 11 year old artist Simone Elias! www.cedarstreetgallery.com Corner of Cedar and Shattuck in Berkeley Windows Open Oct. 25th-Nov 21st... Simone Elias is an 11-year-old Berkeley artist and student at Contra Costa Jewish Day School. She has been excited about art for her whole life, and is so honored to have her first exhibition here. She admires the artwork of Georgia O’Keeffe, Frida Kahlo and Wayne Thibauld. In her own works, she is inspired by the human connection to nature. In these pieces, the five frames represent our hands (with five fingers) touching and experiencing the outdoors. Simone loves bold colors and strong design elements, as well as the interplay between flowers, water and sun. See more
