On the evening of April 20, 2020, President Trump Tweeted that he will be temporarily suspending immigration into the US during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Other than the info contained within the content of the Tweet, please know that immigration lawyers have little additional information at this time. Our office handles a variety of cases. Naturalization cases should not be affected by any policy that follows from the Tweet. However, our spousal visa (I-130/IR/CR) and fiance visa (I-129f/K1) cases may be affected, even more than they currently are - please stay tuned!

Long wait at LAX? I checked out the reLAX Lounge last night at the Tom Bradley International Terminal ("B") and it was incredible! For $10/hr ($25 for 3), you get wifi access, unlimited beverages and snacks, and comfortable seating with a view of the runway. Don't have a computer? Don't worry... you can borrow one for free! Check it out next time you are stuck at LAX!

Did you watch last night’s #Oscars? 50 years ago, immigrant Cary Grant received a special Oscar recognizing his unique mastery of the art of film acting. Gran...t was born in Britain in 1904 and first came to the U.S. with an acting troupe in 1920. He began performing at a young age, working as a singer, dancer, juggler and even a stilt-walker. After a series of stage roles in the 1920s in London and New York, he moved to Hollywood in the 1930s, where he worked with some of Hollywood’s greatest names, including Mae West, Katherine Hepburn, Alfred Hitchcock and Audrey Hepburn. In 1942, he naturalized as a U.S. citizen. His career spanned over 70 films. #USCISHistory #ImmigrationHistory #FilmHistory See more

The Ellis Island Immigration Station opened in New York harbor 128 years ago this week. We believe this is a photo of Annie Moore, the first immigrant to set fo...ot on the island. The Irish teenager traveled to the U.S. with her two younger brothers, Anthony and Phillip. They arrived on the SS Nevada in steerage, the cheapest and most crowded section of a steamship. After her arrival, officials gave her a $10 gold coin and read speeches in honor of the occasion. Historians believe Annie lived in New York City for the rest of her life, where she married a German American baker and had 11 children before she passed away at age 50. From 1892 to 1954, Ellis Island served as the nation’s largest immigrant entry checkpoint. Approximately 12 million people have passed through its halls. #USCISHistory See more

On Sept. 8, 1960, the U.S. District Court for Los Angeles hosted a Citizenship Day naturalization ceremony for 131 new citizens. Afterward, Presiding Judge Thur...mond Clarke greeted singer Gogi Grant, a special guest at the ceremony, and newly naturalized citizen Virginia Lee (at left). Members of the Girl Scouts of Los Angeles also attended the ceremony (back). #USCISHistory See more

For a little while I was writing legal articles for a company that ran schools for troubled teens. Here are some links...those with children may find them helpful. The Cyberbullying one and the one on teen driving turned me into a "Z" list celebrity with cites by governmental agencies, an interview in a car magazine (where my words were twisted to make me sound only semi-literate) and requests for public appearances and radio interviews (which I declined). Feel free to share you experiences if any of them ring any bells for you.
