Meet the newest member of the Office of Family and Faith Formation! My name is Moises Roberto De Leon. I am the new Associate Director of Family and Respect Lif...e Ministry. I have lived in the Bay Area for more than half my life. I am recently married and enjoying the wonderful Sacrament of Matrimony. I obtained a BA in Psychology from Sonoma State and am currently finishing my Masters of Theological Studies with a concentration in Systematic & Philosophical Theology at Santa Clara University JST/GTU. I fell in love with the Catholic Church at a young age and have loved serving since. I enjoy going to the movies, being on the Xbox or PC gaming, reading, and hiking. See more

The November-December issue of Catholic Herald Sacramento magazine has been published. The theme for this issue is stewardship. The digital edition of the magaz...ine is available at https://www.scd.org/catholic-herald-magazine In the cover story, Father Avram Brown, pastor of St. Isidore Church- Yuba City and Helen Gomez, coordinator of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, describe the parish's efforts to spearhead intentional stewardship and how parishioners are growing as disciples who are the ultimate stewards of God's gifts. With visible signs rather than quantifiable metrics per se, parishioner Tomas Hernandez offers his testimony to stewardship alive within him as a disciple returning to the active practice of his faith. Other feature stories in this issue include Bishop Jaime Soto's column on: "Gaudi's Catholic ingenuity recognized the Holy Family as a door into the marvelous mystery of God's mercy"; how Tom and Jane Meuser of St Patrick Catholic Church in Placerville say "when much is given, much is required of us"; Beth Mullin, a member of the board of directors of The Catholic Foundation, shares how doing a daily check-in can help make stewardship a way of life; how Tony Riehl, executive director of The Catholic Foundation, is working with parishes to form communities of stewardship; Eric McArdle of Catholic Stewardship Consultants says stewardship is about "taking continual steps closer to Christ"; and through "Mercy in Motion," teens learn about corporal and spiritual works of mercy through community service projects.

O God, glory of the faithful and life of the just, by the Death and Resurrection of whose Son we have been redeemed, look mercifully on your departed servants, ...that, just as they professed the mystery of our resurrection, so they may merit to receive the joys of eternal happiness.
