Sinus Expert George Domb about the positive effects of the halotherapy on the horses respiratory system: "The health of the horse’s respiratory system, just like any animal’s respiratory system, relies upon being cleaned 24 hours a day by an invisible conveyor belt known as the mucociliary transport system. This system consists of millions of little fiber-like projections which line the cavities (nasal cavities and sinuses) and organs (example, the larynx), and tubes (Trache...obronchial tree) which make up our respiratory system. At the very end of each of the millions of bronchioles there is a dead end and it will collect debris and germs unless it is continuously cleansed by this invisible conveyor belt. The cilia are the microscopic fingers that in a coordinated manner move a thin blanket of clear mucus that is used to trap debris and germs. The mucus becomes very thick when it is dried out by hot, dry air. Sometimes the hot dry air is filled with smoke particles and other toxic debris which contribute to the thickening. This can also paralyze the cilia and then the mucociliary conveyor belt becomes inadequate to transport the thick mucus filled with debris and subsequently bacteria and outward. This then puts the horse or human at risk for sinusitis, laryngitis, and tracheobronchitis which can then lead to pneumonia. A system which can lessen the thickness of all of this mucus can help the mucociliary transport system do its job effectively." Contact us for more information on the SaltAir Halotherapy for Horses. We have attractive options for lease, rent or purchase.
