Lions Club Life Member Doug Treloar was recently presented with an International Association of Lions Clubs Life Membership. Robert Shroll, Carpinteria Lions Club President, in presenting this award, stated that this membership is awarded in recognition of outstanding service as a Lion and is held by less than three percent (3%) of Lions Club members worldwide. Lion Treloar was given this honor for his efforts in the construction of the community building at Lions Park; for... spearheading the Lions vision screening program at the local schools for many years; and for chairing the Constitution and By-Laws Committee for the club, which keeps their local club in line with the International Association’s constitution and by-laws. Doug is a 40-year member of the Carpinteria Lions Club and is very proud of the fact that his grandfather was a chartering member when the local club formed back in 1927.
