Flashback Friday to resident Will Furman’s fantastic photographs of the Manor’s natural beauty! "We at Carmel Valley Manor live in an exceptionally beautiful place, as is evident every time we walk around our campus. Everywhere you look, there are striking plants and flowers, many with gorgeous colors, no matter what time of year. Our gardening team, well led by Gordon Dill, keeps our home looking beautiful always. Sometimes it is not big like when the wisteria is in bloom, b...ut there is almost always color within your view. You just have to look for it! Since I came to the Manor some years ago, I have periodically gone out to photograph the beauty that surrounds us in our little microcosm at 8545. With the Covid-19 pandemic I try to walk around our home several times every day, looking for pieces of beauty to photograph." - Will Furman See more

Calling Carmel Valley Manor artists! The Carmel Heritage Society is seeking submissions for a new exhibit that will open in the First Murphy House in the spring. The exhibit, titled "Resilience: Carmel During Covid," will feature photos of the daily life of Carmel residents as we change our behaviors and learn how to live during a pandemic. Amateur and professional photographers are encouraged to submit entries that capture people, places and things that illustrate the local story of the year 2020. Those interested in submitting a photo for consideration may send a jpeg to [email protected] by December 12.

We are lucky to live in a place that is a vacation destination for so many.
Back in fall of 2019, who would have predicted that Drive-In Movies would be making a come-back? Well, they definitely are and partly thanks to organizations like Monterey County Fair, which have launched programs to keep the community active, while socially distancing.
