Day 1 of Pro-life Novena

Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles 16.12.2020

Sister Ines shares on her #feastday: Saints are a vibrant and resounding "YES" to God. Agnes is the Saint for whom I am named - Inés. Even the initials of my name - sí - are precious to me because they spell the word "yes" or "fiat." Some 2000 years ago a young Virgen brought down the Eternal Word - the Son of God from heaven to earth because she said "fiat." On this feastday of St. Agnes I look to her to help me be a resounding "YES" to God. Together with the saints in heaven, may our converging "yeses" bring heaven to earth and to those around us. #StAgnes, pray for us!

Sister Karolyn Rose shares on her #feastday her great love for JP2, hoping to inspire that Jesus really is enough for your heart: "It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness; He is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you; He is the beauty to which you are so attracted; it is He who provokes you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you settle for compromise; it is He who urges you to shed the masks of a false life; it is He who reads in y...our hearts your most genuine choices, the choices that others try to stifle. It is Jesus who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your lives, the will to follow an ideal, the refusal to allow yourselves to be grounded down by mediocrity, the courage to commit yourselves humbly and patiently to improving yourselves and society, making the world more human and more fraternal." St. John Paul II, World Youth Day, August 2000 #StJohnPaulII, pray for us!

Happy feast day to Sister Shawn Pauline! She shares: When reflecting on the life and holiness of St. John Paul II, one cannot fail to sense the profound reality of fatherhood. He truly was a father to the entire world. I often reflect on these words of his that reach the very core of my soul, Everything else will turn out to be unimportant and inessential except for this: Father, Child, Love. #StJohnPaulII, pray for us!
