We hope you and your loved ones are able to stay healthy and calm during the stressful challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. I'm sure many of you anticipated this follow up post to postpone our May 15th Gala. Our events team and historians will continue working on putting together a fantastic presentation and event to showcase when appropriate, but during this continually changing environment we have not yet set a date for this postponed event. We are looking at late Fall but... will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation to do all we can to support the efforts of our community and patrons during this unprecedented time. Due to concerns regarding the COVID-19 virus and to comply with the City of Carmel's directive to avoid unnecessary gatherings, we are canceling our "CMF Social" this evening. At this time we are not discussing the postponement of our Gala in mid-May, but will closely monitor the COVID-19 situation and adjust plans as needed to protect our patrons and community. Thank you for understanding.

#TBT This week in history, 3,000 people visited Carmel Mission on November 23rd, 1913, arriving by foot, horse, buggy and a few automobiles. 100 years ago this adobe, known as the Downie Museum today, was commission by Father Ramon, renowned for his character in Steinbeck's Tortilla Flat.
