Goodbye Qualcomm you'll always be Jack Murphy to me! 4 years ago Qualcomm/Jack Murphy stadium sat vacant and as I shot a few aerials I couldn't help to think about the wonderful memories I had growing up going to see the chargers and the Padres play here. I consider myself lucky to have seen players such as Tony Gwynn, Trevor Hoffman from the Padres and Junior Seau of the chargers, just to name a few off the top of my head. As of today the stadium is being demolished. But before you go I just wanted to say thanks for all the great memories!

Pumpkins and apples, cinnamon and nutmeg. Fall is a festival for the senses. Almost every culture in the world has Harvest celebrations, Community gatherings to... applaud what the sun has done in providing for the long dark season ahead. Germany raises Beer steins while Argentina clinks wine glasses. Ghana mashes yams as Vietnam pickles just about every vegetable imaginable. Here we do pumpkins, apples and corn. We carve them. We bob for them. We plate and pie them. While we eat them, we sit around fires and tell scary stories. Mini city dwellers head to the country for a dose of this autumnal sensory experience. In Carlsbad, we have all of this in our backyard. Full story in our latest Issue . Written by Wendy Hinman @wendyhinman . Twice a year the sun sets in perfect alignment with the Scripps Pier. Last year I shot it from underneath the pier which I think is the better of the two. However, for obvious health concerns I thought it would be better to stay up top where It was easy to follow social distancing guidelines.

I heard there was magic at Sunset Cliffs so I had to see it with my own eyes. Bioluminescent dinoflagellates are a type of planktontiny marine organisms that can sometimes cause the surface of the ocean to sparkle at night.
