It's ok to scooter around but do not forget, if pulled over lawfully DUI' DO apply to motorized vehicles which includes powered scooters and bikes like jump bikes. Do not park them in the way but to the side or at drop off points and bike racks otherwise Sacramento will fine you and if you have had a few, investigate you for DUI at that point. Also... It is illegal in California to use a motorized scooter on a sidewalk. (Cal. Vehicle Code, 21235.) Sacramento City Code allows bicycle riding on sidewalks (City Code, 10.76.010.) but bicyclists must yield to pedestrians and slow down, stop or dismount as needed. Bicyclists must give an audible warning if passing a pedestrian. Be Safe!

Great Supreme Court decision where a man was prosecuted six times for the same crime and by the same prosecutor, a man with a history of racial bias in jury selection . . . Writing for the court's 7-2 majority, Justice Brett Kavanaugh said, "The numbers speak loudly. Over the course of the first four trials, there were 36 black prospective jurors against whom the State could have exercised a peremptory strike. The State tried to strike all 36." The minority opinion and specif...icslly Justice Thomas (the court's African-American judge) saw NO PROBLEM with a man being prosecuted 6x in which the distrixt sttorney disqualified almost every black juror....wow. Thomas wrote. "Flowers presented no evidence whatsoever of purposeful race discrimination by the State in selecting the jury during the trial below." If one goes to trial it is important that a fair and impartial jury be selected that represents the community. One cannot exclude jurors due to race there has to be a reason which can be as minute as I didn't like how juror XYZ looked at my client yet some prosecutors will give no excuse and then clearly kick jurors off due to race----despicable. I should note that defense attorneys such as myself cannot kick jurors off alley because of race either. https://www.npr.org//supreme-court-strikes-down-conviction

The point is don't have outbursts in court and don't volunteer information. This is an extreme funny example but the number one problem is when clients agree to searches or talk to cops and/or the court without their attorney or against their attorney's advice. The 5th Amendment exists for a reason . . . use it! https://youtu.be/dxUseEZbxEg

Evading police V.C. 2800.2 cases often result in felonies and start at 180 days of jail around many California Counties. Alternative sentencing programs don't usually accept such offenders. This article is another incentive NOT to endanger the public and turn a simple traffic ticket, maybe DUI situation into a grand felony. Think it through; " drove off because I panicked and was scared" is not a defense and will buy you no sympathy with the judge. Contact me if you have this unfortunate situation at hand. https://www.denverpost.com//24/denver-police-gps-tracker-/

Years ago, I received a gift in the form of a free genealogy test. It was novel at the time and neat but something about it smelled rotten to me. This is truly a test of do the needs of the few outweigh the right to privacy. Does one even have privacy when submitting DNA to such a service? So many questions of rights, morality intertwined with criminal law and breach of contract (client-confidentiality agreements). On the other hand the takeaway is that if you have a murd...erous family member, it is possible to link that persom with DNA from 2 third cousins...technology. Caveat Emptor with submitting your DNA to For-Profit companies. https://www.nytimes.com//25/us/golden-state-killer-dna.html
