Hello All, been dormant for a while. I hope all is well in the auto world! I have a joke for you... "The Lawyer and Lexus" A lawyer buys a brand new Lexus and decides to drive it down to the justice hall to show it off to his fellow colleagues, As he arrives, He opens the car door to exit and a huge Mack truck whizzes by and takes his driver door off! The Lawyer instantly rants and tantrums about how His new Lexus is destroyed while he cusses obscenities at the top of his ...lungs. The police show up while He's still screaming about the demise of his new Lexus and the officer says " What's wrong with you lawyers? You're so material!" The Lawyer says " But it's my new Lexus!" The Cop replies "Exactly, you're so wrapped up in your car, You didn't even realize your left arm is missing from the elbow down!" The Lawyer yells " Oh my God! Where's my freakin Rolex?!" See more

As a Summertime tip, it's a good idea to check your cooling system antifreeze level not only in the reservoir but in the radiator itself if accessible. Before you start your engine in the morning, especially before a long trip unscrew your radiator cap and look inside. If your coolant is rust colored, It's an indication your cooling system needs service because that contamination will cause damage to a water pump as well as hinder engine cooling. If it's low, this may indicat...e a leak somewhere in a hose or water pump weep hole. I've noticed some people continually add water, thus diminishing the coolant to water ratio, that causes rust! Don't be that person! If you absolutely have to add, use 50/50 premix or dilute. The last thing you need is to be stranded on the side of the road during these hot summer months! Cheers! I now have the best in updated technology to find the hardest computer related/sensor problems with those pesky check engine light issues. The scanner I have checks every computer on your car! I know you're probably thinking...What? Every Computer? Yes, your vehicle probably has more than one if it's after 2000 or on some vehicles before. What some people don't know is, there is a module/computer for the engine, transmission, and body/interior and more if you own an infamou...s German automobile yah? My scanner will diagnose all of it, take pictures, get on line, and talk to your mother with a touch screen to boot! OK, maybe not talk to your mother, but you get the picture. So, long story short, IF your check engine light is on... DON'T wait to get it checked out! I've seen cases where O2 sensors failed and injectors ran too rich and caused cat's to fail! Not Kitty Cats..... catalytic converters. Which can be extremely expensive on some newer cars. Anyway, my .02 cents just trying to help. Sincerely, Car Doctor See more

During the cold winter months, batteries are most prone to failure. If by chance you try to start your car and you hear several clicking sounds in succession, most likely your battery voltage is low or you have a terminal that is corroded. If you hear just one click and nothing more, it's possible your starter has failed. A good practice for vehicles that aren't driven that often during winter months is to start them and run them 1-2 times a week to keep a charge in the battery or use a trickle charger / battery buddy to keep the battery life up.

To get the best possible fuel economy, change your air filter with every other oil change and check tire pressures regularly especially during the cold winter months. A dirty air filter can equate to 15% more money spent at the pump. Also i f your check engine light is on it could possibly mean that your O2 sensor is failing and if so could result in a loss of up to 40% in fuel economy. "Get rid of the junk in the trunk" is what I always say because the extra added weight you're lugging around makes your vehicle work harder which can also lose mileage. For those of you who live in the area, I am always available for a complete vehicle analysis. I hope this helps! Cheers! Car Doctor
