From the city. The survey is lengthy but important. They note you can comment on as many or as few projects as you would like. Cross-Connect Conceptual Design Survey Building on City staff’s initial evaluations and community input, twenty (20) projects have been identified to help improve access along the five-mile rail corridor in Encinitas. The City has a survey for you to provide feedback on its preliminary conceptual designs. Of interest to Cardiff, particularly crossings beyond Verdi. Rail Corridor Cross-Connect Open House The Rail Corridor Cross-Connect project has been studying how to better connect our communities separated by railroad tracks that divide the coastal corridor. Please join us for a Conceptual Design Open House on January 30th to provide input on design concepts for proposed pedestrian and bicycle railroad crossings and connections. The Open House will be held on Thursday, 1/30/2...020 from 6 - 8 p.m. in the Encinitas Library Community Room, located at 540 Cornish Drive. Please share this information with others who would like to participate. We hope to see you there! For more information, please visit the project website at https://encinitasca.gov/Cross-Connect. Please attend if you have thoughts on this. While the impetus is green house gas related, noise should be a factor too.

Amazing showing last night at the community meeting on Liverpool and Chesterfield proposed changes. Below are community votes for Alternative 0 (no change) and Alternative 7B (one way couplet). Thank you Cardiff for showing up!

Reminder: The meeting on Liverpool/Chesterfield is Tuesday, 04-Dec-2018, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at City Hall Chambers. The traffic commission has recommended a change to one-way traffic for both Liverpool and Chesterfield. This is a notable change and public input is requested. It is important that we provide our inputs on this significant proposed change. Some of us may feel no changes are needed, others may have other changes in mind, and some may find the proposed changes acceptable. More details below.

FYI. I'm finding none of the alternatives palatable. They either eliminate half the parking or force a cumbersome one-way traffic flow on Liverpool and Chesterfield. I don't see the simpler alternative of finishing the sidewalks, and leaving the traffic and parking as it is. The narrower lanes with parked cars likely keep traffic at a manageable speed. Another alternative would be to leave it alone. Please attend the meeting or e-mail your thoughts: [email protected]
