Today is #cesarchavezday. Today we celebrate the farm worker, labor organizer and civil rights leader Cesar Chavez. During his life, he fought for workers right, civil rights, environmental justice and so much more. With #DoloresHuerta, the National Farmworkers Association was founded to support farmworkers as they provided food to communities across America. This year has been tough for many, but farmworkers continue to be #essentialworkers, keeping our communities fed. Now more than ever we keep his legacy alive by honoring the farmworkers who continue to work in the fields despite these unprecedented times. #farmworkers #cesarchavez

This #meettheboardmonday we want to thank Sandee Menge for her time on the board as a South County Rep. I am a board member of the most fantastic nonprofit because I strongly believe in our mission. There are numerous other organizations that provide similar valuable services but the uniqueness of ours , serving all ages from infancy through seniors is quite rare. I truly believe that to be fully human we must offer a helping hand, become a lifeline to someone in need, be it financial assistance, physical shelter, food or emotional support. CAPSLO meets all these needs and does so while protecting the dignity of the individuals served.
