Our front door is closed today for a farm holiday -- it's Sherri's Birthday! BTW, this beautiful wreath was given as a birthday present to Sherri by her sister Jackie 7 years ago. It is hung with care and wonderful memories.
Do you love lavender? Discover Lavender, 6 informative presentations, is hosted by the US Lavender Growers Association on March 20th. Watch live or replay for up to 90 days! https://uslc.secure-platform.com/a/page/Discover-Lavender
It is the most beautiful time of year in Capay Valley -- the almond trees are in bloom. Five years ago I drove into this Valley and thought I had entered a portal to a new world. We will be open on Sunday, February 28th to celebrate the Almond Festival https://www.eventbrite.com/o/capay-valley-lavender-31338463
There are times when things align and I am touched deep in my soul. I had a moment like that when I read this email from a customer recently . . . https://capayvalleylavender.com/blogs/happenings-at-the-farm
So glad we had rain this week. The clover and garbanzo beans have started to sprout. Keeping an eye on the almonds as they will the next beautiful happening in the Valley.
On this cool, rainy Sunday night, it sure is nice to snuggle in with Capay and a cup of lavender tea. Send me your address and I'll send you three free bags of lavender tea.
Learning how to tag purchased custom Corn Hole Boards from Slick Woody’s. They are sharp!
"Oh what a beautiful morning; oh what a beautiful day". Can't help but sing this tune when I start the day with this dawn.
A beautiful Fall day at Capay Valley Lavender. Richard and I "tied the knot" in the bocce court. It has been a dream come true to have this man join me in the endeavor to build a welcoming, gracious farm.
What do we do in the winter time? Get ready for our visitors! In addition to caring for plants, setting in new irrigation, and trying to handle weeds we are thinking of games and gardens. Hope to see you this Spring!
It was cold this morning. So gals to have my warm hat from #Kotahi Knits. In my new favorite green color!
The trees are turning, the temperature is getting nippy, and the Valley is stunning! I know that I use superlatives sometimes (all the time??) for this life on the Farm and for Capay Valley -- so it was good to hear visitors exclaim "What a beautiful day". Tomorrow's forecast is more of the same.... We'll have lavender spiced apple cider, focaccia bread with Herbs of Capay, and samples of our soon to be "world famous" hand cream. We have a range of products -- body & bath, food & drink, and many ways to incorporate the fragrance of lavender in your home. Perfect ideas for holiday gifts and stocking stuffers. Gift wrapping is handled by the terrific team of the Cisneros Sisters. Picnic tables await! Road Trip Bar & Grill is down the way! Enjoy your Sunday with a drive to Capay Valley.
It was truly a beautiful site to see the rainbow. I know it's obvious that we have these sightings when there is RAIN; we haven't had rain since May. Fall is a beautiful time in Capay Valley. Thankful to have found this wonderful place to follow my dream of being a farmHer.
