#repost by @iammichelemento: If you can get your hands on some locally grown organic carrots this season, I highly recommend them! I have always liked carrots but to be honest, they were not the most exciting veggie for me. I was so used to getting the standard thick or peeled baby carrots from a bag that I did not realize there were more varieties to try! I've been having lots of carrots this season from family farms @capay_organic and calorganicfarms which has beautiful R...ED carrots in season through March. I did not know red carrots even existed and they are delicious! Both these varieties are thinner so need a little extra care when handling to keep them from breaking off at the tips. The extra TLC they are given is so worth it when they reach your kitchen. These beauties are super sweet, tender and crisp. My favorite ways to have them are shaved thinly in salads or cut as raw chips and dipped in homemade herb cashew ranch I've also been known to just eat them whole from the fridge What’s your fave way to eat ? Satsuma Mandarins We love these tasty, easy to peel treats. It takes almost 5 years for the tree to start yielding fruit, but the wait is so rewarding. Pictured is the difference between our two year old trees and our 10 year old trees. The mandarins in the 10 year old orchard are just starting to ripen for the first time this fall, right as we anticipated. We're excited to start harvesting this tasty fruit for our customers.
