Your MATCHED #GivingTuesday gift makes a difference! Learn how your gift helps Canopy impact the community and donate at canopy.org/2020-year-end-giving!
Canopy’s programs look different than usual, but we're more committed than ever to creating nature-filled neighborhoods and bridging the "green gap" in Midpeninsula communities. Your #GivingTuesday gift this fall ensures that community trees thrive where they are needed the most, even as city tree budgets are cut, and helps plant new trees for local residents while providing the care needed to help young trees establish and grow. Donate for #GivingTuesday and through December 31, 2020 for your gift to be matched! canopy.org/donate

Happy Thanksgiving from the Canopy family to yours! Although this holiday season is unlike any other, we have so much to be thankful for this year. We hope your day is so full of family, food, and fun that you don't see this post until Friday. Today, nature in our cities is needed more than everto sustain our health and well-being, give every child a green space to play, and nurture climate-resilient neighborhoods. But community trees need community care, especially now as cities and counties tighten their budgets. This fall, Canopy is grateful to announce that eight generous funders have come together to MATCH every gift through December 31st, up to a total of $52,000. Double your gift for community trees today! canopy.org/donate

Canopy plants and cares for trees where people need them the most, growing the urban forest and creating greener, healthier communities. Learn how our work supports equitable, inclusive, and diverse communities in the mid-peninsula region at our website. canopy.org/about-us/impact
The Wishing Tree project has brought our communities closer through shared messages of hope and resilience, but #WishingTrees have also given voice to the injustices and inequality impacting our neighbors. In response to recent wishes of this nature, the Wishing Tree community partners posted at each tree a list of food, housing, and mental health resources. See the compiled list of resources at canopy.org/wishing-trees/community-resources, and share with your community as we support each other and envision a brighter future together. #WishingTreeTuesday #CommunityWishingTrees

One of our Popcorn plantings" with our Teen Urban Foresters this week! Canopy’s teen leaders planted four trees at two homes in the Belle Haven neighborhood last Saturday. Our model for tree planting this fall involves more events like this onesmall groups tackling a few trees at a time in a specific area. We miss gathering everyone in the community together, but our staff and volunteers are ready to keep the urban forest growing however we can. We know that neighborhoods need nearby nature more than ever! #treeplanting #urbanforestry #youthleaders #letsplant #nearbynature
Nature has so many lessons to teach about resilience and community. This quote from Adrienne Maree Brown is bringing us strength today! . . . #Nature #Resilience #oaktree
