Cancer Aid Thrift Shop

Cancer Aid Thrift Shop will be reopening the shop Tuesday, June 30th. Our hours will be 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We will be closed Monday's, Saturday's and Sunday's.

Cancer Aid Thrift is not open due to the Corona virus, but we are still accepting new patient applications and processing all cancer patient receipts. Payments for cancer related expenses or mileage will be processed as usual. Please either mail your receipts or place them in the mail slot in the front door. If you need additional travel receipts, or have any questions about what is covered, leave a message at 273-2006 with your name and phone number. Messages are returned within a few days.

Cancer Aid Thrift Shop needs volunteers. Men and Women are needed full day (9:00 till 4:00) or half day (9:00 to 1:00, or 12:00 to 4:00). The shop is currently open Monday's through Saturday's but if we don't get more help, we will be forced to close on Monday's. Volunteering with us is very rewarding. Most all of our proceeds go directly to cancer patients who reside in Nevada County. We help pay their co-pays for cancer related drugs, chemo, radiation, scans, travel to... treatment appointments and much more. We have been supporting cancer patients for over 48 years and currently have about 350 people we are helping. Please consider volunteering your time with us. Work includes: Taking in donations, sorting, pricing, displaying and organizing, checking electric items, and operating the registers. Cancer Aid Thrift Shop will be celebrating 48 years in business. The shop opened Oct 1st, 1971 and has been supporting Cancer Patients of Nevada County. In celebration of this milestone, we will have a 50% Off Storewide sale for the entire week. This sale will begin, Monday, Sept 30th and continue through Saturday, Oct 5th.
