Driving timelapse through the Sierra National Forest on Huntington Lake Road parallel to Big Creek on Thursday, November 5. With forecasted snowfall and precipi...tation, we will be moving heavy equipment from higher elevations to lower elevations. Please drive carefully and keep an eye out for heavy equipment and firefighting personnel on and along the roadway. Use extreme caution on snow-covered roads. https://youtu.be/fS8rQNWi9c4 Subscribe to the Creek Fire 2020 YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAQ4dBl9nqTdEZh2F6rf7MA/ For more information: Fire Info Phone Line: 559-549-3781 Email: [email protected] Inciweb: https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/7147/ Video credit: Alaska Interagency Incident Management Team, Samuel Wu PIO Media: Available for media use with mandatory credit of at least 3 seconds to Creek Fire #CreekFire #FireYear2020

A crew closed the campus for the winter yesterday. From the campus you see no fire damage. Step behind cabin six or go to either parking lot and the view changes. The only fire damage was a break in our water line from the springs and smoke damage to anything that absorbs it. We are thankful.
Hike to Inspiration Point
The fire burned around Inspiration Point, but not over the top.
Camp Keola is in good shape, but the fire came really close. It burned to the top of the dam and the slope below our parking lot, but the campus and water front are fine. An answer to prayer.
It was HLVFD who saved our camp.

Official report from the Huntington Lake Fire Dept. No damage to Camp Keola!
We haven't gotten anything on Keola, but here is a photo of Lakeview Cottages taken yesterday.

This map is current as of about 3 AM. Firefighter focus has been structure protection, and we have no information about our status. The main body of the fire has now passed us. The next news will need to be from someone on the ground.
We don't know how things are at Keola, but here is Cressman's at the top of the four lane. #creekfire
These map views are current as of mid afternoon. Green for Saturday, yellow Sunday, red today. The fire is making a run for China Peak and trying to wrap around the north side of the lake. It is also heading for Auberry, and about doubled in size today. This is satellite data based on heat sensors, not facts on the ground. The winds are shifting and strengthening, so it will be a long night for the firefighters. It is definitely time to pray for their safety and success.
