Did you know that 40% of women aged 65 and older are widowed, compared with 13% of men? It’s important for women to be intentional about spending and savings to improve finances and level the financial playing field. On Saturday, April 10th, at 10 AM PST, the Cameron House Legacy Committee will be hosting a workshop demonstrating steps you can take today to prepare for a more secure and fulfilling retirement, and it's not exclusive to women! This webinar will be presented by Heidi Kaney, VP Investment Services at T. Rowe Price Investment Services Inc. Register here: https://bit.ly/3wis3iK

Check out our BAP virtual session teachers Stephen, Tiffany, and Kristen packing activity kits for our students! Students will soon be making these kits with live instruction from teachers, the kit includes supplies for slime, bird feeders, origami and Spork companions (inspired by the 4th story about toys )! The kits will be delivered alongside another installment of food boxes going out today. We can’t wait to see their creations!

We received a request from a concerned alumnus, Terry Lee, to call our attention to the pretrial of Antoine Watson, the man who was seen on video footage fatally pushing Vicha Ratanapakdee to the ground. "If we don't keep up the publicity, while none exists in the local media, his murder will soon be forgotten, as are so many Asian victims of crime. It's vital we act quickly on this." Show up for Vicha Ratanapakdee's family next Monday, March 22, at 9 AM at the Hall of Justic...e. We condemn violence against our community, from the streets of our Chinatown to Chinatowns everywhere, from Market street to Anza Vista, from the Bay Area to Atlanta, Georgia, and beyond. Hate has no place here. If you or someone you know experiences a racially-motivated incident of hate, violence, harassment, discrimination, shunning, or bullying: report it @stopaapihate Portrait of Vicha by @jdschang #VichaRatanapakdee #JusticeForVicha #StopAAPIHate

We can still celebrate Carnival vicariously through Legos! Did you know: the caronavirus can live on plastic surfaces up to 72 hours? Remember to frequently sanitize high-touch surfaces! Diorama by Josh Chuck

Mental Wellness at a Glance episode 4 is out now! Our last episode of the year will teach you about coping strategies when dealing with stress. Some people may already have their own different ways of relieving stress, but it is important to use approaches that are safe and healthy and not ones that are harmful to you or to others. In this episode, we have included a mindfulness breathing exercise you could try practicing and incorporate into your strategies of coping with stress. We hope that you will be able to find the most appropriate approach that will be most helpful for you! https://bit.ly/3nIdkbS

Last night we celebrated and acknowledged our 2020 #volunteers with a Zoom gathering! We thanked everyone who braved the technological glitches to join in celebrating the joy of this holiday season. We shared wishes for the coming year and thanked all our volunteers: our loyal and intrepid food pantry crew, our Friends of Ai and Cameron House, our tutors, Youth Development Leaders, cooks, drivers, Healing Committee, Legacy Committee, our wildly successful Fundraising Committee and Facebook Fundraising Team, and our wonderful Foundation and Cameron House boards. We again thank all of you volunteers for contributing your heart, sweat equity, and your caring/compassion for helping lift and strengthen people in our #community!
