#COVIDVaccine UPDATE: Next in line for vaccinations in SLO County is anyone age 75 or older, soon followed by the 65-74 age range. We know that yesterday the St...ate announced that anyone 65 or older are now eligible for a #COVIDvaccine. Unfortunately, here in SLO County, we just don't have enough vaccine supply available. We must allocate our limited vaccine supply based on who is most at risk for serious illness or death from COVID-19. Here in SLO County, more than three-quarters of the people who have died from COVID-19 were age 75 or older. They are simply more at risk of serious illness or death than other age groups. By allocating the county’s limited vaccine supply to this group at this time, we are all helping to prevent the most serious outcomes. We want to be able to provide vaccines to everyone who is 65+, but we just don't have enough yet. The good news is that people between the ages of 65-74 are still in Phase 1b (our next phase of vaccination distribution), and we will open up our appointments to this age group when we have more supply. Cambria Ambulance Paramedics were dispatched around midnight to provide medical standby for a structure fire on Lodge Hill West. Cambria Fire's Medic Engine 5792 and Cal Fire's Engine 3466 responded quickly and made a knockdown on the fire before the flames could advance throughout the structure. All occupants made it out of the house safely, thanks to their smoke alarms. This incident serves as a reminder to routinely check your smoke alarms to ensure they are installed and maintained, as they play a vital role in reducing fire deaths and injuries.

This is Mando! - Wearing a helmet while riding a motorcycle lowers the risk of head and brain injuries by 69%. - Helmet use reduces the risk of death by 37%. - Motorcyclists who failed to wear helmets cause an estimated $1.1 billion in unnecessary economic costs in the U.S.... - In states with laws requiring all motorcyclists to wear helmets, 8% of motorcyclists who died were not using helmets. Be like Mando. Mando always wears his helmet! This is the way.
