We enjoyed a wonderful study through 2 Corinthians 11 yesterday! If anyone could've complained about being persecuted, it was the apostle Paul. He was often imprisoned; he was frequently at the point of death for the cause of Christ. He received 39 lashes on five occasions; beaten with rods three times; stoned (not in the California sense); and shipwrecked thrice, among other things. What drove him to ensure such hardships? Paul knew the reality of eternity, the power of... the gospel and the mystery of God's mercy. He had the heart of a spiritual father. Once God literally knocked Paul off his high horse on the road to Damascus, Paul was radically saved and devoted the rest of his life to Christ. May we all have such hearts in serving the One who died for us. May God bless you as you seek His face and study His Word. God bless! Pastor Sean https://youtu.be/dKEdktLeduY

Today's worship service was wonderful! We studied through 2 Corinthians chapter 3. In this chapter, Paul highlighted the superiority of the new covenant that we have in Jesus Christ. It is only in Him that the veil on our understanding is lifted. This new covenant is far superior to the old covenant because it is based on God's faithfulness, not man's performance. We concluded our line-by-line, verse-by-verse study through 1 Corinthians on Sunday morning. This week we went through the sixteenth and final chapter of this glorious epistle. Paul demonstrated openness to God's leading. He subordinated all of his plans to God's will. He didn't shrink in the face of opposition. We are exhorted to watch, to stand fast in the faith, to be brave, to be strong. Some in the church didn't respond well to Paul's message. This prompted him... to compose a second epistle to the Corinthian church. That will be the next book we study. May God richly bless you as you study His Word! We had another great time in God's Word this morning. We journeyed through 1 Corinthians 14. In this chapter, Paul discusses the manifestations (commonly called 'gifts') of the Spirit, particularly the manifestations of tongues and prophecy. Tongues is a manifestation primarily intended to edify an individual believer in his personal devotional life. Tongues should not be exercised in public without an accompanying interpretation, and it is subject to the guidelines Paul s...pecifies here in 1 Corinthians 14. Prophecy has much broader benefits than tongues. Prophecy edifies the whole congregation. Paul spoke in tongues as part of his personal prayer time, but in the church setting, he preferred to speak that which could be understood by all who heard it. May God richly bless you as you seek His face and study His Word. Here's a link to the recording of our worship service. Pastor Sean https://youtu.be/JqUaOFZvfQ0

We had another great day in God's Word yesterday. We studied 1 Corinthians 12, in which Paul wrote about the gifts of the Spirit and their proper operation within the church. Some churches teach that the gifts of the Spirit are not valid for today. Other churches overemphasize spiritual gifts to the detriment of sound doctrine and good order. Paul sought to help us find godly balance in this important aspect of our faith. We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. May God ...richly bless you as you seek His face and study His Word. The Lord truly blessed our worship service today! We studied through 1 Corinthians 8. The foundational truth in chapter 8: knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ have tremendous liberty. However, we must not exercise that liberty in a manner that would stumble the weaker believers in our midst. When we wound a weaker brother or sister, we sin against Christ. May the Lord richly bless you as you study His Word!... Pastor Sean https://youtu.be/H1sWoMjN31c
