A little piece of advice as a Dog Trainer and dog lover! DO NOT take a puppy home from the breeder before it turns 8 weeks old! Not only is it illegal in the state of california to sell a puppy before 8 weeks old but I am having families contact me for dog training help who have purchased a puppy from a breeder (not me) who allows them to take their puppy home early....one family took their pup home at 4.5 weeks old! You don’t realize how crucial that 8 weeks with their mot...her and litter mates are for their development. Even a week early is detrimental to their ability to be good with other dogs and people. I am seeing a lot of aggression coming from dogs who have been pulled from their litter too early.
