The First Lady of Jazz, Ella Fitgerald made an everlasting impact on music and who performed it. Before her, women were rarely accepted in jazz bands and her booming voice would open the doors for many after her. Her success and influence was solidified long before becoming recognized as the first Black woman to win a Grammy! Duke Ellington was not only lauded as the best bandleader of all time, he made his mark as an incredible pianist and composer. He led his orchastra for over 50 years, using each song to bring out his bandmembers unique talents and traits. Please enjoy 2 of the best jazz musicians of all time: Ella and Duke! #BlackHistoryisAmericanHistory #CDIMoreThanDance #HappyBlackHistoryMonth!
