California Golden Bears

After a rough year with the bears, and with some questionable play calling and managing, coach Jeff Tedford was relieved as head coach of the Golden Bears. After getting his greatly desired new stadium for 320 million dollars, he led the very talented filled team of Golden Bears to a disappointing 3-9 season, after showing great promise in his early Cal years (11 seasons total). It is very sad to see Tedford leave, but it shows great promise for the future of the Bears who will have many veterans next year, including the hopeful Keenan Allen who may not stay due to a rough year and losing his step brother Zach Maynard to graduation. Who's ready for the 2012 football season? Finally time for the Rose Bowl?

I'm sorry for the delayed update, I was traveling home from San Diego yesterday. Cal Bears lost 10-21 to #24 Texas. That may not look bad, but it was terrible. Luckily Texas receivers missed some huge plays and the QB didn't hit the open guys. Cal's defense was very good, considering they had to return to the field early from Cal's 5 turnovers (INT-Maynard, Fumble- Maynard, Sofele, Jones, Allen). The team ran for 7 yards. Sofele had 52 yards and the team's only TD. Cal's offense couldn't put it together, and Cal suffered a loss in the 2011 Bridgepoint Holiday Bowl. Bridgeford may be the starting QB next year. It all depends on Tedford. Till next year...

I'll see you all in a couple of days in San Diego as you support the Bears. Time to take down Texas, the team that took Berkeley out of the rose bowl in 2004. Merry Christmas all!
