I share this video with my students - who mostly want to be rappers, gamers or soccer players. When I ask them why, they all answer the same...for the money and the cars. But when a popular tiktok guy asks people with sick cars ‘what they do for a living’ none of them are athletes or Game players, in fact many of them are game makers! 70 percent of these self made people made their money in a STEM related field. This is why we exist!

This is your last chance to register for our special panel webinar lead by Dr. Linda Darling-Hammond, Dr. Douglas Fisher, and Dr. Tyrone Howard. The new school year is approaching, and the unique experiences and inequities in your community will have a profound effect on your teaching strategies during reopening and beyond. On July 16, our panel of education experts will share emerging research and practical tactics for preparing for a challenging start to the school year. D...r. Jacqueline Jodl will moderate the panel discussion and an interactive Q&A. Almost sold out. Message me if you’d like to be added to the list. (CR contributors get first dibs)

We recently completed our 4th year working with the West Contra Costa Unified School District to raise math results for students of color. We’re especially proud of our work with Nystrom Elementary that has more than doubled the percentage of Black and Latino students exceeding proficiency in math. Also, we’ve helped to reduce the number of Black students scoring far below basic by 15%! Thanks to all the contributors who helped to make this happen. #educationistheanswer, #wccusd
