March 17, 2021 CUSD Staff and Families, Sharing information on status and direction in a few areas, after our most recent board meeting.... CUSD appreciates the engagement of all involved in our day to day efforts to navigate the challenging conditions to do right by our students, staff and families. We can see that all of the sacrifices and dedicated efforts in all aspects of pandemic response and management of our schools/district, are paying off and we see signs of hope, of light, forthcoming. The first COVID vaccination clinic for CUSD staff was held at Toyon Middle School today. 100 received the Moderna vaccine. Another round is scheduled for Friday. Thank you to our staff members, nurses, and EMTs for being there today!

CUSD Families and Staff, As previously communicated, we will return from Winter Break on Monday, January 4th, with schools in the 50% Blended Program Model (same schedules at the sites as they were up to December 11th). Sierra Hills Education Center will continue to operate on their same standard schedule as they have been all year. CUSD Families, In consultation with Calaveras County Public Health and the Calaveras County Office of Education, all school districts in Calaveras County, including Calaveras Unified, will shift to 100% Distance Learning for next week (December 14th-December 18th). There will not be any small student cohorts served on campus next week (Special Education, those without internet). Your teachers and/or administrators will address these site specific issues with those it impacts.... We still expect to be able to provide meals to all students, as we did before when we were in full Distance Learning in August to October. Look for more information on this to come. If you have any questions or issues specific to your class or your school, please contact the teacher and/or site administrator to directly address them. We still expect to resume the 50% Blended Program Model upon our return from Winter Break on January 4th. If anything changes with this, you will be notified.
