Dear U.S. Hospitals and Health Systems: What story does your data tell about your culture of care and patient experiences of safety during hospital births? Black mothers & birthing people define safety in hospital-based care as acknowledging affirming & making space for kinship & unconditional love.... How does your hospital's vision statement align with the 2020 realities of Black mothers & birthing people who gave birth in your hospital during COVID-19? Be Brave. Be Bold. Learn more about the impact of your intention by referring patients today. Visit https://sacredbirth.ucsf.edu/hospitals-health-centers-and-h to sign up as a #SACREDBirth study partner aka a referral site to share information with your patients, physicians, nurses, midwives, support staff, administrators, the board of directors, investors, and more. @ANTI-VIOLENCE VENTURES (AVV) "ignites community members to do what they see fit to prevent violence in their communities and homes - executed in their own style. In this way, AVV democratizes who and how people address violence. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to AVV programming. The unifying aspect is a focus on Black men and boys at the center." #CABWHP uplifts our commitment to the continued development of AVV & we thank Blue Shield of California Foundation for supporting the exploration of innovative prevention efforts for Black couples, families, & communities. https://blueshieldcafoundation.org//engaging-black-men-and

World Mental Health Day, 10/10/2020, comes at a time when our daily lives (as BLACK WOMEN & GIRLS) have changed considerably as a result of COVID-19. The past 7 months have brought many challenges: for BLACK women trying to hold it all together; for BLACK lives dealing with structural violence; for BLACK students navigating uncertainty; for the vast number of BLACK families caught in poverty with extremely limited protection from COVID-19; for our BLACK elders; and for BLAC...K people with mental health conditions, many experiencing even greater social isolation than before. We feel it, we fight it, we find strength in our ancestral legacy, and we face these challenges TOGETHER! #BlackWomenLead #blackmentalhealth #sistercircles #sistersmentallymobilized #CRDP #healthyblackwomen #healthequity #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness #WorldMentalHealthDay2020 #worldmentalhealthday See more
